Why compare
An audit tells you what is broken. A comparison tells you what is enough.
Every audit tool will find something to complain about. That is easy. The harder question — the one that decides your budget — is how good your website actually needs to be. The answer is never "perfect". It is "better than the three sites currently ranking above you."
That is what this tool measures. Your site and your competitors go through identical checks, and the results land in one table with the winner marked on every row. Suddenly the conversation changes. Instead of "our site could be faster", you get "their homepage answers in 240 ms and ours takes 1,300" — a number nobody argues with, and one your developer can act on the same afternoon.
What you get back
A verdict, first
Ahead or behind, and by how many points against your strongest competitor. No hunting through a table to work out where you stand.
The side-by-side table
Overall score, content depth, server response time, page weight, images missing alt text, internal links, structured data types and title length — each row marking which site wins. Your column is highlighted throughout.
Your three biggest gaps
The categories where the strongest competitor beats you, ranked by the size of the gap. This is your work order. Fix the widest gap first; it is where the effort converts fastest into positions.
The full breakdown of your own site
All 26 checks on your page, with the same plain-English explanations as the website audit tool, so you can move straight from diagnosis to work.
How to choose the right competitors
This is where most comparisons go wrong. The businesses you think of as rivals are often not the ones you compete with in search. Open an incognito window, search the phrase a customer would actually type — "dental clinic Iași", "epoxy flooring installer", "wedding photographer Bucharest" — and take the first three organic results that are real businesses rather than ads, directories or marketplaces. Those are your competitors, whether or not you have heard of them.
Compare like with like: your homepage against their homepage, your service page against their service page. Putting your homepage next to their 3,000-word blog post produces a number that means nothing.
What the comparison cannot see
Being honest about the limits is what makes the rest trustworthy. This tool reads what is published on the page. It cannot see backlinks, domain age, Google Business Profile reviews, search intent, or how well the copy actually converts a visitor into a phone call. A competitor with a weaker page can still outrank you on the strength of fifteen years of links.
What the comparison does is close off the excuses. When your on-page work matches or beats theirs and you are still behind, you know the problem is off-page, and you stop spending money in the wrong place. That alone is worth the ten seconds it takes to run.
How it works
One run, one table, one plan
-
Enter the URLs
Your page first, then up to three competitors. Use comparable pages: homepage against homepage, service page against service page.
-
Every site gets identical checks
Same 26 tests, same weighting, same scoring. Each page is requested once, exactly the way a search engine crawler would.
-
Read the gaps and act
Start with the widest category gap. Fix, re-run, watch the table change. Most sites move ten to twenty points in a single afternoon of work.
Questions
Frequently asked
How many competitors can I compare at once?
Your site plus up to three others. Three direct rivals tell you more than ten loosely related ones.
Which competitors should I pick?
The sites that actually outrank you, not the businesses you compete with offline. Search your main keyword in an incognito window and take the top three organic results that are real businesses.
Do I need the competitor's permission?
No. The tool reads only what is publicly published, exactly like a search engine. It requests each page once, never attempts to log in, and does not scan for vulnerabilities.
Will beating their score make me outrank them?
Not by itself. Rankings also depend on backlinks, domain history and content relevance, which no on-page tool measures. What this does is remove the technical disadvantage so the contest is decided on merit.
Can I compare specific pages instead of homepages?
Yes, and you should. Paste the exact URLs you want measured against each other — a service page, a product page, a landing page. The tool audits whatever URL you give it.
One of the sites failed to load. Why?
Some sites block automated requests, sit behind aggressive bot protection, or respond too slowly. Those are skipped and listed at the bottom of the report; the comparison continues with the rest.
