WebP to JPG.

The reverse trip. Turn WebP files back into JPG or PNG for software that still refuses to open them.

WebP is excellent on the web and inconvenient everywhere else. Older versions of Photoshop need a plugin. Some print shops reject it outright. Certain CRMs, marketplace uploaders and accounting systems still only accept JPG. And clients who saved an image from a modern website often end up with a file their own computer will not preview.

This converter handles that in the other direction: drop WebP files, get JPG or PNG back. Choose JPG for photographs, where it is smaller, and PNG when you need to preserve transparency — a logo on a WebP with a see-through background becomes a JPG with a white one, because JPG has no alpha channel at all.

That transparency handling is worth understanding rather than discovering later. When you convert a transparent image to JPG, this tool fills the background with white instead of the black that naive conversion produces. If you need the transparency kept, pick PNG.

Worth knowing

  • Photographs to JPG, anything with transparency or flat colour to PNG. Picking the wrong one either bloats the file or ruins the edges.
  • Converting WebP to JPG cannot restore quality lost in the original compression. It re-encodes what is there.
  • Batch the whole folder in one go — select multiple files or drag them all onto the drop zone together.

Questions

Frequently asked

Why does my transparent logo get a white background?

JPG does not support transparency; it has no alpha channel. This tool fills transparent areas with white rather than black. If you need the transparency, convert to PNG instead.

Does converting back improve quality?

No. Compression loss is permanent. Converting WebP to JPG changes the container, not the pixels that were already discarded.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser through the Canvas API. Nothing is sent, stored or logged.
