HEIC and HEIF go in. JPG or PNG comes out. Nothing leaves your browser.
Conversion runs in your browser using a JavaScript library loaded from a CDN. Your photos are never uploaded to any server.
Why iPhone photos won't just open
HEIC is efficient, not universal
Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos as HEIC by default — a format that keeps the same visual quality in roughly half the file size of a JPG. That's good for storage and iCloud, and bad the moment that photo needs to open somewhere that isn't Apple's own software. Plenty of Windows apps, older Android phones, and a fair share of web forms and CMS uploaders still don't recognise it.
JPG doesn't have that problem. It's the one image format every browser, phone, printer and piece of software from the last twenty years already understands, which is the entire reason to convert rather than fight with the original file.
Questions
Frequently asked
Why won't my iPhone photos open on Windows or Android?
Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos in HEIC by default, a format that stores the same quality in about half the file size of JPG. Most Windows apps, older Android phones and a lot of web software still can't open it, which is why the photo looks broken or refuses to attach anywhere but Apple's own apps.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs with a library loaded into your browser and never sends the file anywhere. That's also why there's no file size limit and no wait for an upload.
Does converting lose photo quality?
At the default quality setting, the difference is not visible to the eye. HEIC uses more efficient compression than JPG, so the JPG version will usually be a larger file for the same visual quality — that's the trade-off for a format everything can open.
Can I convert more than one photo at once?
Yes. Drop as many HEIC files as you like — each converts automatically — then download them individually or all at once as a ZIP.
